Musika Publiko‘s partnership with the Bantayog ng mga Bayani Foundation produced a number of music videos of new original socially relevant songs shot and recorded at the Bantayog grounds. Produced with Musika Publiko’s outdoor recording sessions team. These were released in 2017.
Here’s Pordalab‘s acoustic performance of their original song Desap (short for Desaparecido), written by Karl Ramirez. The collection was part of the Songs for Peace Project.
Desap is a song dedicated to desaparecidos and their families. There have been many cases of enforced disappearances in the Philippines since Martial Law. Victimized are individuals critical of the abuse and corruption perpetrated by those in power. They were abducted against their will, and they remain missing to this day.
With this song, the band and the Songs for Peace Project join the families of the desaparecidos in their continued search for their loved ones and quest for justice.
Desap is also available on Spotify at the link below. It was composed and originally released by Karl Ramirez in 2011 and became part of his band Pordalab’s Puso at Bayan album in 2016.
