The Bantayog ng mga Bayani Foundation Inc. is proud to announce the holding of a successful Annual General Membership Meeting, held online on August 21, 2022.

The meeting strengthened the members’ resolve to pursue the Foundation’s aims of keeping alive the memory of those who contributed to the struggle for freedom, justice and democracy during the Marcos regime of terror and repression, and in staying vigilant to help prevent the recurrence of repressive regimes in the country. The members resolved to continue being witnesses to the country’s past experience of dictatorship and share the lessons of the past with the new generation.

The Assembly also elected a new set of Board of Trustees to manage the affairs of the Foundation.

The new members of the Bantayog Executive Committee are as follows: Atty. Jose Manuel I. Diokno, Chairperson; Edicio dela Torre, Vice-chairperson; Ma. Corazon Jopson-Plopinio, Board Secretary; and Solomon Yuyitung, Board Treasurer. The other Board members are Robert Alonto, Ma. Cristina Bawagan, Minerva Gonzales, Ester Isberto, Leilani Mallorca, retired RTC judge Mienrado Paredes, Rafael Paredes, Dr. Juan Perez III, Karl Ramirez, Atty. Liwayway Arce-Rodriguez, and retired professor Roland Simbulan. The Executive Director, Ma. Cristina V. Rodriguez, was re-elected.

A new Advisory Board was created nominating outgoing trustees as members, including the following: Sen. Wigberto E. Tañada, Carolina S. Malay, Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, Jose de Jesus, and Edith Burgos.
